Uluslararası Çalışma Örgütü tarafından “iş kazası” kavramı önceden planlanmamış, bilinmeyen ve kontrol altına alınamamış, belirli bir zarar ya da yaralanmaya neden olacak nitelikteki olay” şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır.

Uluslararası Çalışma Örgütü’ne göre dünyada her 15 saniyede bir işçi kaza ve meslek hastalıkları sonucunda can verdiği düşünüldüğünde bu rakam, her gün yaklaşık 6.300 işçiye tekabül etmektedir. İstatistikler göz önüne alındığında her yıl yaklaşık 365.000 kişi iş kazası dolayısıyla hayatını kaybettiği, meslek hastalıklarının ise yaklaşık 2.000.000 işçi ölümüne neden olduğu görülmektedir.

İş Sağlığı ve güvenliği kapsamında işçilerin bedensel, ruhsal durumlarını tehdit eden ve çoğu kez karşımıza kazalar ve meslek hastalıkları olarak çıkan tehlikelerden insanları korumak, adına işverenlerin ve işçilerin yükümlülüklerinin yanı sıra devletin de rolü ve denetimi ön planda olmaktadır.

Bu proje çerçevesinde İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği profesyonellerinin güncellenecek mesleki eğitim müfredatı ile eğitilmesi, yasal mevzuatın iyileştirilmesi ve mevcut yaptırımların işlevsellik kazanması, muhtemel maddi ve manevi kayıpların azalması hedeflenmektedir. Dolayısıyla proje ile elde edilecek çıktıların çalışanların, dolaylı olarak da toplumun refah seviyesinin yükseltilmesine katkıda bulunacağı beklenmektedir.

According to the International Labor Organization, this figure corresponds to approximately 6,300 workers every day, considering that every 15 seconds in the world as a result of an accident caused by accidents and occupational diseases. When the statistics are taken into consideration, it is seen that nearly 365.000 people die every year due to occupational accidents and occupational diseases cause approximately 2.000.000 workers deaths.

Within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety, the role and control of the state as well as the obligations of employers and workers on the behalf of the workers and workers, which threaten the physical and mental conditions of the workers and which are often the ones facing us as accidents and occupational diseases, are at the forefront.

Within the scope of this project, it is aimed to educate Occupational Health and Safety professionals with the vocational education curriculum to be updated, to improve the legal legislation and functionality of existing sanctions, and to decrease the possible material and moral losses. Therefore, it is expected that the outputs to be obtained by the project will contribute to raising the welfare level of the employees and indirectly the society.
